Disadvantaged Business Enterprise
BYD MOTORS – DBE CONTRACTING OPPORTUNITIES
BYD Motors is seeking qualified DBE firms to participate in the development of its next generation transit fleet.
BYD Motors has established a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program in accordance with regulations of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), 49 C.F.R. Part 26. BYD Motors is committed to being a member of the community, and it puts great value on diversity in both its workforce and its vendors.
BYD offers significant DBE opportunities at all of its facilities as it designs and manufactures the next generation of transit vehicles in its Southern California facilities. DBE opportunities include but are not limited to a range of goods and services for the development of modern, high tech, and electric transit vehicles.
BYD has developed a significant DBE Program, utilizing its past and present experiences as well as extensive outreach and research in the marketplace. BYD Motors is committed to a significant DBE program in full compliance with federal rules and regulations. The BYD DBE outreach program as developed will facilitate consultation with community groups aimed at reaching disadvantaged, minority, women, and veterans organizations. At minimum, BYD will engage community advocacy groups, economic developmental organizations, military/veterans’ groups, women’s councils for business expansion and development, minority groups such as Hispanic, Black, Asian Pacific, and Native American, and organizations representing impaired individuals. Initially, our primary focus will be in California, BYD’s home base.
The DBE program plan is available for public view and comment by appointment from 9:00AM to 5:30PM Monday through Friday, at the BYD Motors Corporate Office at 1800 S. Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA.
