On April 17, BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles, held a brand launch event in Victoria, the capital of Seychelles, in partnership with local distributor PMC Group. At the event, BYD officially introduced five new energy models to the local market — the BYD ATTO 3, BYD DOLPHIN, BYD SEALION 7, BYD SEALION 6, and BYD SHARK. Nearly a hundred attendees, including local media, government officials, car enthusiasts, and prospective buyers, gathered to witness the beginning of a new chapter for sustainable mobility in Seychelles.

Seychelles, where half of the nation's territory is designated as protected natural reserves, has long been celebrated as a "GARDEN OF EDEN”. In recent years, international events such as the Seychelles Carnival and the Creole Festival have drawn visitors from around the world. BYD’s entry into this unique market not only supports the growing demand for green transportation, but also leverages the key tourism and ecological hubs around the world to promote sustainable mobility.

“The launch of these five new energy vehicles in Seychelles marks a significant step forward for BYD’s expansion into the African market,” said Jayant, Business Manager at PMC Group. “Car owners in Seychelles will now enjoy BYD’s cutting-edge vehicle technology and a greener, smarter driving experience.”

In 2024, BYD’s annual sales of new energy vehicles exceeded 4.27 million units, maintaining its position as the world’s best-selling NEV brand for the third consecutive year. With a presence in over 100 countries and regions and more than 400 cities worldwide, BYD’s overseas sales grew by 71.9% year-on-year, further accelerating its global footprint. As the global shift toward green transportation gains momentum, BYD will continue to strengthen its presence in the Middle East and Africa, delivering high-efficiency, low-carbon mobility solutions and advancing its vision to “Cool the Earth by 1°C.”
