Who can benefit from the promotion?

BYD car owners with a BYD x Shell Recharge charge card can benefit from the promotion.

How can I claim the promotion?

Once you have brought a BYD vehicle, firstly you need to register on the BYD APP with your email address and then add your vehicle. Secondly, click on BYD x Shell Recharge link to register for your charge card. The BYD x Shell Recharge charge card will be shipped to you by Shell and you will need to register and activate the charge card in the Shell Recharge APP. Upon activation, you will automatically receive the discount when charging on the Shell Recharge owned and operated DC fast charging network.

How do I know my application is successful or not?

As soon as you complete the application form via the BYD APP, a notification will be sent to your email address. Please check your inbox or spam folder for confirmation of your application.

What is the validity of this promotion?

The promotional discount is valid on the owned and operated Shell Recharge DC charging network for a period of 12 months after card activation.

Is the discount applicable on all charge points?

The discount applies to all Shell Recharge owned and operated DC chargers in the following countries: United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland and France.

I am having trouble redeeming the offer within the Shell Recharge APP – where can I get support?

You can contact the Shell Recharge customer support team.

How and when will I be invoiced?

You will be invoiced at the end of each month. An invoice will be sent to the email address that is linked to your account showing the cost of all your charging sessions and transaction fees. Shell Recharge will take this amount from your account via direct debit.

Can I use any payment method (credit card or QR code on the charge point) to benefit from the discounted Shell DC rates?

To benefit from the discounted rates on the Shell Recharge DC charging stations, you will need to start the session with your Shell Recharge x BYD charge card or by using the Shell Recharge APP.

Where can I see the first date or the last date of the validity of this promotion?

Unfortunately, this is not visible in the BYD APP or the Shell Recharge APP. We advise to check when you ordered and received your charge card, the date of your first invoice from Shell Recharge is a good indicator.

How can I order charging cards if I don't use the BYD APP?

To claim the BYD x Shell Recharge charge card including the promotion you must use the link on the BYD APP.

How long is the delivery time for Shell Recharge X BYD charge card from the time of ordering?

After completing the application form in the BYD APP, and if you are based in Germany, Netherlands or Austria, please allow 2 to 5 working days for delivery. If you are based in the UK, please allow 10 working days to receive the charge card.

Is it possible to order an additional Shell Recharge X BYD charge card for the same vehicle (e.g. several drivers on one vehicle)?

Unfortunately, not, a customer who owns one BYD vehicle can apply for one Shell Recharge X BYD charge card only.

Is it possible to order an additional Shell Recharge X BYD charge card for the same vehicle when ownership changes?

A new application can be submitted when the VIN is linked to a new owner registered on the BYD APP.

Where can I see the discount applied?

Once the promotion is activated, the discounted price will be visible on the charge point preview screen and charge point more information screen. The discounted price will also be visible in the summary screen after the charging session, and details will be included in your monthly invoice.

I lost my charge card. What should I do?

Please go to the Shell Recharge APP to deactivate the card immediately. Please order a new card by contacting the Shell Customer Support. The activation process of your new card will be the same as before.

I have issues with my charge card. What should I do?

Please call the number on the back of the card or in the Shell Recharge APP and our Shell Recharge customer care team will be able to support you.

The charge point doesn’t work and there is no one to help. What should I do?

Please use the Shell Recharge APP to find another charge point or call the Shell Recharge customer care team. We are available 24/7 for technical issues.
