São Paulo, May 28 – BYD hosted a high-impact launch event in Brazil for the new BYD SONG PLUS and BYD SONG PLUS PREMIUM, bringing over 500 guests together, including 256 journalists and influencers, to witness the debut of this game-changing plug-in hybrid SUV.
BYD Brazil’s brand ambassador, Marina Ruy Barbosa, added star power to the event, helping generate 138 test drives in just one afternoon.
“The BYD SONG PLUS 2026 is not a simple update — it’s proof that our technology never stands still,” said Alexandre Baldy, Senior Vice President of BYD in Brazil and Head of Sales and Marketing at BYD Auto. “We’ve kept everything that made it a success, and added what Brazilian consumers asked for: more connectivity and a design that impresses even those already familiar with the brand.”

BYD SONG PLUS has always stood out for its design — blending SUV strength with sedan-style aerodynamics. The 2026 version further strengthens its identity with sharper Dragon Face 3.0 headlights, new 19” alloy wheels, and a refined “Heart of Ocean” center console, all highlighting a more premium and sophisticated look. The Infinity® by HARMAN sound system, now equipped with a subwoofer, enhances the in-cabin experience.
The upgrade focuses not only on aesthetics but also innovation on its user-friendly functions. The head-up display projects speed and ADAS data directly onto the windshield, while the BYD App with NFC/Bluetooth key enable remote vehicle access, even without an internet connection. “These are the kinds of details that make a difference in driver's day-to-day life and take the experience with our cars to a higher level,” said Baldy.
While the styling evolves, one of the model’s biggest strengths remains unchanged: the revolutionary DM (Dual Mode) plug-in hybrid system, which delivers impressive energy efficiency, low fuel consumption, and smooth driving performance. The Blade Battery offers up to 100 km of electric range (NEDC) and 63 km based on Brazil’s standard test of Plug-in Battery Electric Vehicle (PBEV).
BYD SONG PLUS PREMIUM: THE EVOLUTION OF EXCELLENCE
Real-world feedback drove the Premium version’s upgrades. It now features a larger 26.6 kWh Blade Battery (previously 18.3 kWh), extending the pure electric range to 135 km under NEDC and 87 km under PBEV. It also adds 18 kWh DC fast charging, allowing a full charge less than 1.5 hours.
“The Premium started as a commemorative edition, but the success was so great that it became a permanent part of our lineup. This evolution shows our commitment to exceeding expectations,” notes the executive.
In 2024, more than 17,000 units of BYD SONG PLUS hit the streets across Brazil, proving that efficiency, technology, and design can thrive together.
