São Paulo, Brazil - BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles, held the “New Energy Night” product launch in São Paulo, Brazil recently, to officially introduce two brand-new models to the local market - BYD SONG PLUS DM-i SUV and YUAN PLUS EV. Additionally, BYD announced that it would start local production in Brazil, which would further display its aspiration to promote NEVs around the world.

Stella Li, Executive Vice President of BYD and CEO of BYD Americas, attended the event, along with local celebrities, journalists, and industrial partners.

“BYD will collaborate with excellent local dealers and industrial partners to create premium products with green technology and outstanding quality, bringing a larger number of consumers more diversified choices and experiences. Moving forward, we will continue expanding our presence in the Americas by starting local production in Brazil, and we will also bring a full range of BYD passenger NEVs to 17 countries like Mexico, Chile, and Colombia”, said Wang Chuanfu.

We expect to establish 100 retail stores by the end of 2023 to improve our local retail network.”

The BYD SONG PLUS DM-i is the brand’s first plug-in hybrid model introduced to Brazil. With the DM-i Super Hybrid technology, this model can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds and deliver a combined range of over 1,000 km under the hybrid mode.
The BYD YUAN PLUS is the first SUV built on the e-platform 3.0, which combines intelligence, efficiency, safety, and aesthetics. Designed with BYD’s Dragon Face 3.0 design language and a sporty interior design, the BYD YUAN PLUS can satisfy the consumers’ demand for all-electric SUVs in the Brazilian market. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and features an electric range of up to over 458 km (NEDC), providing users with a more convenient and comfortable urban commute experience.
